US History

This is a yearlong course where we will study the development and creation of the United States nation.  In this course, students will study the pre-colonial societies up to the present day United States.  Students will discover the importance of the democratic process in the United States.  We will trace significant themes and come to understand historical knowledge is the result made by recorders of history.  Topics will include exploration of the New World, the colonial era, the Revolutionary War, Revolution of 1800, War of 1812, the antebellum period, the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Industrial Age, Imperialism, the Progressive Era, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the Conservative Era, and the War on Terrorism.
